Problem
When I started working with Simple Flying, I noticed a few key areas that needed some work, their social media presence was missing a consistent engaging content strategy. They had been building up a following but the content shared across platforms didn't feel like it was made for those specific audiences. Instead of creating conversations the posts mostly just felt like a business transaction was happening. It was clear that the brand's unique voice was getting lost in the alogrythm.
Solution
I crafted a social media plan built around telling stories sharing news about aviation in the moment and getting the community involved. To make things easier to follow I focused on content that was clean, simple and modern that conveyed what simple flyings brand was, Simple, easy, digestable aviation news. Additionally I brought in content that fits each platform and made sure the posts matched the goals of the editorial team. I went a step further by crafting content designed specifically for each platform ensuring a seamless alignment with the strategic editorial focus. Simple Flying saw a surge in their Instagram followers going from 90,000 to well over 200K in organic growth over two years. On top of that, they also witnessed an increase in engagement rates. But perhaps the most exciting development was the shift from having mere viewers to fostering a strong and dedicated group within the aviation community. The answer? Simple Flying has rapidly expanded their social media following from 400K to more than a million across all platforms, they have seen seen marked improvements in engagement rates and have solidified their status as a brand building a loyal aviation network rather than just a passive audience.
